"Most of us are familiar with real life bullies. We remember the big bullies in the school yard, the ones who took your lunch money or made fun of the smaller and less popular kids in the class. They are loud and rude and spend lots of time finding ways to hurt others and to make themselves look bigger and tougher. Cyberbullies do the same kind of thing.

No community is immune from social cruelty.  Prejudice, gossip, stereotyping and issues we are afraid of tend to create a response in humans that can take on mean-spirited forms.  We must all strive to always treat everyone we interact with the way we want to be treated.  I have assembled a number of resources with this article that can help us deal with those who cannot resist the temptation to be bullies through word or deed.
