The Board approved the CONSENT AGENDA that included:
Minutes of the May 14, 2007 Meeting
Treasurer's Report
Bills submitted for payment
The NES & NHS Activity Fund Reports
The USD 246, NES and NHS Petty Cash Fund Reports

INFORMATION ITEMS
1. The Principals shared brief reports with the Board concerning year end activities. A discussion of the need for high school summer school ensued.

2. Superintendent Rivers reported on the status of the Special Education Interlocal District's finances and led a short discussion to provide the Board's representative to the Interlocal, Sherry Payne-Sisney, information for decisions to be made at the Wednesday night Interlocal Board meeting.

Mr. Rivers also reported that the construction project was at a standstill due to the significant rainfall of the past two weeks. Several board and staff members will attend the budget workshop at Greenbush on June 19th.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
1. The addition of late start dates to the 2007-2008 calendar were not approved failing on a 3 (for) -1 (against) vote. (Any board action requires 4 (four) affirmative votes.) The question will be readdressed at the July meeting.

2. Student Handbooks were reviewed by the Board and administrative staff. Included in the recommendation was a $.10 increase in lunch and breakfast prices for the 2007-2008 school year.

ACTION ITEMS
1. The Student Handbooks and changes for 2007-2008 were approved for publication. Administrative staff will draft letters to all parents this summer highlighting the changes adopted in the handbooks.

2. The Board accepted the resignations of:
- Kelly Hampton as junior high cheerleading coach
- Elaine Humble as network / systems administrator
- Vicky Sheehy as food service worker

3. The Board approved the retirement of Becky Skidmore, Northeast High School Secretary, effective July 1, 2007.

4. The Board approved the employment of:
- Becky Skidmore as NHS library aide effective August 1, 2007
- Steve Lechliter as Network / Systems Administrator

5. The Board approved numerous Supplemental Duty contracts for 2007-2008.

6. The Board approved a 45¢ per hour wage increase for all classified staff. Additionally, the Board will pay for an approximately 8% increase in health insurance premiums.

7. The Board approved administrative pay raises of 3.5% plus an additional raise for NES principal and curriculum coordinator Nicki Traul to make her salary equivalent to the middle school principal's position.
