Boys & Girls State Representatives Selected...

...will represent Northeast High School this Summer

Arma American Legion, Post 182, and the Arma Homecoming Association, are sponsoring four junior boys from Northeast High School to be representatives at the Seventy-first session of The American Legion Boys' State of Kansas. This year's session will be held Sunday, June1 through Saturday, June 7 on the campus of Kansas State University, Manhattan.

Representatives for this year include: Todd Brennon, Danny Davied, Andrew Moore, and Xavier Sheehy.

Todd Brennon is the son of Mike and Waona Brennon of Arma. Todd has participated in the following activities while at Northeast: Basketball, Cross Country, Baseball, Student Council, and Spanish Club.

Danny Davied is the son of Tom and Ronnie Davied of Franklin. Danny has participated in Football, Basketball, Cross Country, and Spanish Club.

Andrew Moore, son of Lester and Jennitta Moore of Arma, has participated in Football, Track, Spanish Club and the Chess Club.

Xavier Sheehy, son of William and Vicki Sheehy of Mulberry, has been a participant in Football, Track, and Spanish Club. He has also served as student manager for the basketball team at Northeast.

Northeast High School and each of the representatives selected wish to thank the sponsoring organizations for their support of this year’s exercise in “learning government by doing”.

The American Legion Auxiliary, American Legion Post 182, of Arma, the Emma Pastore Memorial, and the Arma Homecoming Association are sponsoring four Northeast High School junior girls to attend this year’s session of Sunflower Girls State. The exercise in “learning government by doing” will be held in Lawrence, on the campus of the University of Kansas, during the week of June 1 through June 6.

This year’s delegates to Sunflower Girls State are: Andrea Ashbacher, Keanna Bartelli, Danielle Burns, and Morgan Stokes.

Andrea Ashbacher is the daughter of Henry Ashbacher of Franklin, and Susie Prewett of Arma. She has participated in the following activities at Northeast: Volleyball, Basketball, Cheerleading, and is a member of the National Honor Society, and Spanish Club. Andrea is also Vice President of the Junior Class and Treasurer of Student Council.

Keanna Bartelli is the daughter of Troy and Kim Bartelli of Arma. She has been a participant in Volleyball and Basketball, Spanish Club, National Honor Society, and is Junior Class President.

Danielle Burns is the daughter of Charles and Shelly Burns of Arma. Danielle has participated in Honor and Select Choirs.

Morgan Stokes, daughter of Craig and Brenda Stokes of Franklin, has been active in Basketball, Volleyball, Student Council, Spanish Club, National Honor Society, and is Junior Class Secretary.

Northeast High School and each of the representatives sponsored would like to thank the Arma American Legion Auxiliary and the Arma Homecoming Association for the opportunity to take part in this program.
