Teen Read Week

Teen Read Week is October 12-18 and we will celebrate it this year by having a week filled with fun, prizes and reading. The library staff would like to hold several activities to get students more involved in reading. Each day, Monday through Thursday, will have a special theme…….

Monday, October 13th will be …………….. ….Hats Off to Reading Day (Students are encouraged to wear a hat to school today. Please do not wear anything that may be bothersome.)

Tuesday, October 14th will be ………..........….Track Down a Good Book Day
(Students are encouraged to dress like a person going on safari. On this day we will have a book exchange for students who are looking of a good book.)

Wednesday, October 15th will be…….……….. Wild about Books Day
(Students are encouraged to dress “wild” today/ wear items that don’t match; wear two different shoes; style your hair crazy, etc. Please do not color your hair.)

Thursday, October 16th will be ………..………..Show Your Spirit Day
(Students are encouraged to wear burgundy and/or white to show school spirit. Go Vikes!!)

All week long the staff will be “catching” students reading and will write their name on a slip of paper and put it in the a box for the prize drawing at the end of the day. We will do this daily Monday through Thursday. Every student should have their name in the drawing at least one time each day because of SSR reading.

Daily Drawing: The drawing for prizes will begin at 3:05 in the commons area daily Monday through Thursday. There will be several prizes drawn for each day.

On Tuesday, October 14th, we will have a book exchange in the Jr. High library. Students may bring a used book from home to exchange it for another used book that someone else has brought from home. Please limit the number of books you bring to exchange to 3.

Scholastic Book Fair

The book fair will be here October 13 - 16 in the elementary library.  Hours will be Monday - Thursday 8:00 - 3:30 and Tuesday and Wednesday nights 4:00 - 8:00.  Plan on coming in to visit us during Parent/Teacher Conferences.  Elementary students will visit the fair during their regularly scheduled library times and Jr.High students will visit during first and second periods throughout the week.
