Fifth Graders witness history

by Steve Mahnken

January 21, 2009

Mrs. Miller's and Mr. Mahnken's fifth grade classes were able to witness history today. The two classes converged for a luncheon in Mr. Mahnken's room and discussed and watched the 44th president being sworn in.The fifth graders did morning activities and had a mini-lesson on what an inauguration is and its significance. The students were excited and also inquisitive about the historical event. It was so amazing to watch the kids get into it and applaud and sing the National Anthem along with the television.
