Present: Ronda Fincher, Michelle Pryor, Stephanie Underwood, Brenda Stokes, Larry Hill, Craig Stokes, Carl Goodwin
Discussion:
1. Ronda went over the “Green” Information. Discussion was held and decided to distribute this information to different organizations/clubs within the school to see what interest we might have.
2. Senior Citizen Reading Program – Michelle will explore and bring info to December meeting
3. Lighting in Jr. High Library – Joe Polhlopek came in to the meeting and will gather information for the December meeting. Michelle will look for the old information that was started two years ago. Discussion was held about Westar doing a lighting measurement. Discussion was held about the possibility of grants being available for funding this project (Lowe’s, Pritchett Trust Grant, Home Depot). Ronda will get information to Larry Hill on the Lowe’s grant. Research will be done on the possibility of qualifying for other grants.
4. Media notification – Discussion was held to determine was to get our successes in the media. A contact list with email addresses will be made so USD 246 staff and organizations can get information to the media. Suggestions were contact information for Nikki Patrick, Dalton Windsor, KOAM, etc. Also discussed the possibility of putting our information in a “community newsletter” – will check with Bette Lessen. Contact information should be turned into Ronda Fincher.
