The Regular meeting of the Northeast Site Council of Northeast Unified School District No. 246, Crawford County, Kansas, was held on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the High School Music Room.
The following were present: Alan Roberts, Michelle Pryor, Ronda Fincher, Larry Hill, Brenda Stokes, Craig Stokes, Jennifer Ulrich, Stephanie Underwood
-PROCEEDINGS OF MEETING-
I. CALL TO ORDER
The Regular Meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairperson Brenda Stokes
II. DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. Improve lighting in the Northeast Junior High Library
1. Bid received from Joe Polhlopek for supplies
2. Labor would be donated
3. Project would have to be done during a school break
4. Larry Hill will fill out Lowe’s grant application
5. Craig Stokes will get Larry Hill more information for the Pritchett Trust Grant and other grants
B. Green Information
1. Information to different clubs/organizations within the school to do a project.
2. The main problem is getting the items collected into the recycling center.
3. Brenda mentioned the possibility a competition between classrooms collecting old telephone books.
C. Senior Citizen Reading Program
1. Teresa Yarnell will forward information to Ronda Fincher
D. Media Notification
1. All email contact information has been given to Ronda Fincher and distributed to teachers
2. Brenda has sent an email to Tim Schook regarding adding a story from the district in the Arma Newsletter he puts out quarterly
II. INFORMATION ITEMS
A. High School: Opportunity To Learn testing this week
New computers in High School computer lab – old ones will be moved to the Jr. High
B. Junior High: Music/vocal program this week
Jr. High girls basketball tournament this week
C. Elementary: Food Drive very successful
2nd & 3rd Grade Music program next week
PTO Door Decoration contest
PTO organizing “clothes closet”
Next Site Council meeting will be January 20, 2009 at 6:30 pm in the High School Music Room..
IV. ADJOURNMENT
Brenda Stokes adjourned meeting at 7:05 pm
