Four Students Represent Northeast at K.U. Honors Banquet

Nick Popejoy, Makenzie Stansbury, Chris Ward and Brandi Wiley represented Northeast High School at the 2010 Kansas University Honors Banquet Monday, February 1st at Pittsburg State University.  Kansas University honors the top ten percent of each senior class in the area.  The Northeast students were presented to the group of students, parents, relatives, K.U. representatives, administrators and P.S.U. representatives by Northeast principal Alan Roberts. 

The program included introductions by Dr. Rodney Odgers, welcome by Dr. Lynette Olson (Vice-President for Academic Affairs) Pittsburg State University, and remarks by David Johnson (Director of Marketing and Internet Services) KU Alumni Association.  Entertainment was provided by Evan Kilgore, vocalist and Jeremy West, pianist from KU.  The students were given dictionaries by Heath Peterson (Assistant Vice President for Alumni Programs) from the KU Alumni Association.
