I grew up in Miami, Oklahoma and graduated from Miami High school. I attended college at Oklahoma State University, where I received my bachelor's degree in microbiology. I worked three years as a chemist at Eagle-Picher Ind. and Gulf Oil and was a research assistant for five years at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. before I decided to become a teacher.
I taught one year at Liberal before coming to Northeast High School in 1988. My two sons, Tyler and Ryan, both attend(ed) Northeast and I have taught both of them in class. Several years ago I went back to school to get my counseling degree. I completed it in 1998, I still enjoy teaching and plan to stay here until my retirement.
