Shari Miller Named PITSCO Teacher of the Month

Shari Miller, Northeast Elementary 5th grade teacher was given a special honor this week in being chosen Teacher of the Month from PITSCO Corporation. Ms. Miller was honored in an assembly held in the gym, it was quite a surprise to her and all. Most people have had that special teacher who impacts their lives so profoundly that they remember him/her into adulthood. Shari Miller is just such a teacher, particularly for one student who never liked school until she entered fifth grade at Northeast Elementary School and Miller was her teacher. Miller’s dedication to making school enjoyable and her positive impact on students’ lives—for a lifetime—have earned her the PITSCO Teacher of the Month award for March.
Miller is praised for going above and beyond for her students. She creates fun activities in which students can learn without realizing they are acquiring knowledge. A mother of one of her student’s proclaimed, “She is one of the most outstanding teachers I have seen in many years!”
Miller receives a $50 gift certificate from PITSCO and an award plaque. She will be entered into a drawing for the “PITSCO Teacher of the Year,” which includes a $500 cash prize.
Congratulations to Ms. Miller, from the Northeast School District and Staff. We are proud to have you in our district.
