Northeast Junior High Celebrates Kansas Day

By Harris, Matt

February 01, 2012

To celebrate Kansas' birthday students were to create a display of something relevant to Kansas History.  This has become an annual project to kick off their 7th grade Kansas History class that begins with the spring semester.  Students are allowed to choose anything ranging from people, places, events, or time periods significant to the development of Kansas.  Popular topics include ones from  as early as  Native Americans to as recent as the PSU National Championship.  Projects will cover topics from local history all the way up to Kansas' role in American and  other world wide events.  The projects will be on display for the week following January 29th and then students must give their classmates a small presentation about their project and how it relates to Kansas History.
